CUMBERLAND – On Wednesday, June 1, Congressman John K. Delaney (MD-6) joined Democrats in Allegany County for their annual Colbert-Lewis Dinner at the Ali Ghan Shrine Club in Cumberland. During his remarks, Delaney stressed the importance of bipartisan compromise in Congress, the need for investments in education and infrastructure, and the urgency to take action against climate change.
“It is an honor to be welcomed by Allegany Democrats and speak at their event, named after two inspiring individuals who reflect the caliber of people in Western Maryland and also embody our party’s core values,” said Delaney. “Western Marylanders understand that we need leaders who inspire and bring the country together instead of tear it apart. I look forward to working with the people of Allegany County to take a stand against the divisive nature of the Trump agenda.”
After two decades as a successful entrepreneur, innovator, business and non-profit leader, John Delaney was elected to represent Maryland’s Sixth District in 2012. Since taking office, Delaney has earned local and national praise for his thoughtful results-oriented approach on economic policy.
